In Jerusalem, the celebration of the first anniversary of the beatification of Mons. Oscar Arnulfo Romero. The Archbishop of San Salvador was killed and died a martyr on March 24, 1980.


24 March 1980: Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, archbishop of San Salvador, was celebrating Mass in this Latin American city, when a sniper who was connected to the military dictatorship of the Government, entered the church and lethally fired a gun, killing Mons. Romero.
35 years later, the beatification.
Monday, May 23, on the occasion of the first anniversary of his beatification, the Embassy of El Salvador with the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land remembered the martyr at St. Savior Monastery, in the old city of Jerusalem.
