Ash Wednesday was celebrated in the sanctuaries of Jerusalem, the Holy City where Jesus lived his Passion, Death and Resurrection.
The first celebration held this Wednesday was a Mass celebrated at 6.30 am by the Franciscan community in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Local faithful and pilgrims participated in the celebration.
